Girl Scouts prepare for annual Winter Wonderland event

The 14th annual Winter Wonderland event will be held Friday, Nov. 23 in Louisiana. The parade will begin the event at 5 p.m. starting at the high school.

Activities include a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn. The Grand Marshall, Miss Snow Queen, Jr. Miss Snow Queen and Miss Snowflake will be presented at the town Christmas Tree in Flansburg Park.

Pike County businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the parade by entering a float, group of walkers or other entry in the parade. Awards will be given out for best lights, best animation, and best decorated. Walkers in the parade are also eligible for awards.

Because Santa and Mrs. Claus are special guests at the event, it is requested that no other Santa or Mrs. Claus be portrayed in the parade.

Those interested in paricipating in the parade should contact Troop Leader Connie Hartwick at 573-754-0457.
