The Northeast Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League gathered at Our Savior Lutheran
Church in Monroe City on Oct. 27 for their Fall Rally. The Ladies Aid of Mt. Hope Shelbyville was cohost with the Ladies Guild of Our Savior.

The meeting was called to order by the Zone President, Mary Myers. Pastor Kenneth Schamber welcomed the members and then lead the opening devotion using the illustration of the stages a butterfly goes through in its development; just as Christian women do
also as they feed on the word and will be transformed when Jesus comes again.

Linda Ruhl presented the minutes of the Spring Rally and the Treasurer, Carolyn Schreiner, presented her report.

The committee reports were given and it was noted that the National LWML Convention will be held in Pittsburg, Pa, in June, 2013.

An invitation was extended by the ladies of Good Shepherd, Bowling Green,
and Trinity Lutheran, Louisiana to come to Bowling Green on April 27, 2013, for the Spring Rally.

A delicious lunch
was served by the hosts.

The afternoon program was given by Jeremy Schamber, Principal of Martin Luther School in Joplin. He spoke about the tornado that hit Joplin and how he and members of his
church and school helped the city in recovery and rebuilding. This is still ongoing in Joplin.

Pastor David
Johnson lead the closing devotion. He told us that even though things go wrong in our life, we plan wrongly, or just make poor choices, we can always go to Jesus and He will wrap us in His arms and show
us His grace and enduring love.

Those attending from this area were Dorothy McCarthy, Debbie Curry,
and Annette McCarthy.
