BGMS to hold clothing swap
by Becky Turner, BGMS seventh grade science teacher
Who doesn’t love free stuff? The students and staff at Bowling Green Middle School certainly do.
Theses students have been reading ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens’ by Steven Covey. As an activity for Habit 4- “Think Win-Win”, they will be hosting a clothing “swap shop” Dec. 19 and 20 during school hours for all students who want to participate.
Students are being asked to bring in any new or gently worn winter clothing. Any donation of good quality is appreciated.
Anyone who would like to donate clothing, hangers, or accessories to our swap shop is asked to send them to the BGMS Office by Monday, Dec. 17. This will give staff and students time to sort and hang clothing, so that the “shop” can be organized before shoppers arrive.
Please call the middle school office with any questions or donations.
This is a win-win situation as some will get closets cleaned out (win!) Some will find Christmas gifts for others (win!) Some will get new clothing for themselves (win!) Clothing will be re-used and not placed in a landfill (win!) Parents may not have to spend as much money on clothing (win!)
