Jane Waddell Williams

Memorial services for Mrs. Jane Waddell Williams were Dec. 17, at First Baptist Church, Quitman, Miss. The Rev. Gene Neal officiated.  Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Williams, 77, of Quitman, Miss. died Friday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, David L. Williams, Son and Daughter –in-law Mark and Holly Williams, Brother James Briscoe Waddell Jr., Sisters Margaret Katherine Brunch and Betty Ann Lockard, Grandchildren Andrew Mark Williams and Faith Elizabeth Williams .

Mrs. Williams was born March 13, 1935 to James Briscoe Waddell Sr and Margaret Susan Kritz Waddell at home on the farm in the Grassy Creek Community in Pike County, Mo. She married David Lamar Williams in Kansas City, Nov. 15, 1958. She and Mr. Williams spent most of their life in Quitman, Miss.

In 1980 she established her real estate business and served the people of Clarke County, Miss. until her retirement Dec. 31, 2011.

She enjoyed being a stay at home mom, was a Cub Scout Den Mother for pack 35. She served on the building committee for the First Baptist Church in Quitman. She served a two year term as president of Clarke County Chamber of Commerce and also served on the restoration committee for the Quitman Depot

She was preceded in death by her parents James Briscoe & Margaret Susan Waddell, and a sister Hazel Irene Edwards.
