Under the watchful eyes of the Thomas Jefferson statue on the steps of the Missouri Capitol building, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon took the oath of office to begin his second term as Missouri Governor at noon on January 14.
Following the oath of office, Nixon took to the podium to address the hundreds of Missourians who gathered on the south lawn of the capitol and the thousands of other Missourians tuning in from across the state via television and radio.
