BGHS Principal

The past week has been a difficult one for the entire community of Bowling Green.  We will continue to keep the family and friends of Anthony Jennings in our prayers.

The students and staff would like to also extend our appreciation to the Silex and Clopton school districts and their guidance counselors for assisting with grief counseling on our campus this week.  We would also like to thank Wendy Summers and Margaret Goodin for providing comfort for our students and staff.

Entering and Exiting the BGHS Parking Lot

It is our goal to modify the traffic flow in and out of the BGHS parking lots after school to make them safer.  We have been working with the City of Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Police Department to set up barricades in various locations to encourage a safer traffic flow from 3 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

After trying several different combinations, we believe that the best way to do this is to detour incoming traffic on West Adams Street down High Street.  They will enter the campus on West Martin Street.  All traffic exiting the BGHS campus will be funneled out West Adams Street.

Entering BGHS

In response to the recent events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, school districts across the nation are reviewing their security plans.

At BGHS, we will no longer have multiple points of entry into the building.  The only exterior doors that will be unlocked will be those entering the Commons.

Students entering the building should use the common doors, as should any community members visiting our school.  These doors are clearly monitored by our surveillance system and closest in proximity to the BGHS office.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to tweak these procedures to continue to make BGHS the safest possible place for our students.

88th Annual Bowling Green Tournament

On Jan. 21, we will be kicking off the 88th annual Bowling Green Tournament at Bowling Green High School at 3 p.m.  The faculty, staff, and students truly appreciate all of the support that you, members of our community, show us during tournament week.  It is an exciting time for all of us and we hope to see you there!
