LEDC sponsored Job Fair

The Louisiana Economic Development Committee (LEDC) is sponsoring a Job Fair on Feb. 1 at Your Event Center located at 120 S. 5th St. in Louisiana from 9 a.m. to noon.

Area businesses will be on hand to deliver employment information and collect applications and resumes from job seekers.

“This is just one of the economic development activities our group has planned for 2013”, commented John Lynn, president of the committee.

NECAC, will also have representatives on hand to help prospective employees complete a resume.  They will also be able to provide information on assistance that organization can provide to those that are out of work.

Also attending will be a representative from the Missouri Department of Economic Development and its Workforce Development Division.  The Hannibal Career Center will provide employment counseling.

The local Veterans Administration representative will also be available to provide employment/placement assistance to eligible veterans.

Among those employers who have verified their participation in the job fair event: Pike County Memorial Hospital, Fifth Gear, Alan T. Lynn, PJ Printing, Missouri Staffing Co, AllParts, North East Correction Center, Lowe’s-Hannibal, Trailorman Trailor, and Pike County Agency for Development Disabilities.

LEDC Chairman of the Job Fair reports that several other businesses have expressed an interest but are yet to confirm.

Job Seekers interested in visiting are encouraged to bring completed and up-to-date resumes, work history and identification in order to be fully prepared.

“These employers are serious about filling vacancies and updating their files with prospective employees,” remarked Blaylock.

She also expressed appreciation to NECAC for providing its professional services to those looking for a job that may not have a completed resume.

“We have had an overwhelming response from employers so I hope that those in the market for a new job or are currently unemployed will visit us on Friday Morning Feb. 1!”
