The Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition is sponsoring a Community Worship Service Celebrating Black History, Sunday Feb. 3 starting at 10 a.m. at the Pike County Fair Grounds. Rev. Terrence Small of St. Louis will bring the morning message and the Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition Choir will render the music.
The following churches will be in attendance: Bethel AME Churches of Louisiana and Paynesville, Centenary United Methodist of Louisiana, First Baptist of Eolia, Green Chapel of Clarksville, Maryland Street of Louisiana, New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Praise of Louisiana, Second Christian Church of New London, White Rose Baptist of Bowling Green, Grant/Lovell Chapel AME of Moberly and Bethel AME of Macon.
The Black History Program will be a part of the morning worship experience with Mr. W.T. Johnson as our guest speaker.
W.T. Johnson is a native of Palmyra. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Culver Stockton College and Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University. Mr. Johnson is the assistant principal with the Hannibal School District #60.
He portrayed the following people in the past. Fredrick Douglas, Dred Scott, Father Augustus Tolton, Geo. Washington Carver, Cathy Williams, Barack Obama, Henry Dant and Martin Luther King Jr.
He is married to Cynthia Johnson, and they have two daughters, a son and two grandsons.
A day of worship, fun, food and fellowship is planned. Please join us for this spectacular event. The public is invited. The Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition is made up of Pastors, inisters and lay people from St. Charles to New London. All area Clergy is invited to be a part of our Coalition.
