Haw Creek Neighbors meet for a Valentine potluck

The Haw Creek Friendly Neighbors met on Feb. 6, for a potluck lunch with tables decorated with the
Valentine theme and a bounteous variety of food. Louise Miller gave the noon blessing. The members were happy to see each other since the January meeting was cancelled because of the weather.

The meeting was called to order at 1 p.m. by President Brenda Cook with the fourteen members reciting the
pledges to the American flag and the state of Missouri. Absent for personal reasons were: Dorothy Flowers, Juanita Glascock, Zelma Rucker, and Mary Ellen Salsman.

Frankie Epperson read the devotion, “God’s My Redeemer”. Myrna Schuette lead us in singing “Daisy, Daisy.” Roll call: Show and tell of an old greeting card or postcard, the oldest was from 1918. Secretary Myrna read the minutes, Treasurer Brenda gave her report, and Lola Jennings reported cards sent. Brenda reminded everyone of the Frankford Fire
Department’s Soup and Chili Luncheon.

Vice-President Leah Epperson led everyone reciting the Club Collect and read the agenda for the March 6 potluck
luncheon at the Frankford Presbyterian Church.

The game “Wheel of Fortune” was played by Frankie Epperson and Myrna Schuette with contestants names chosen from a bag. ‘The grand winner was Nannie Elder. Secret pal gifts were passed out. Others attending were: Dorothy
Adams, Pauline Gibbs, Pam Hendrell, Maxine Macaulay, Dorothy McCarthy, Roxie McMillen, Diane Miller, and Hayden Buchanan.
