Board members, at the Feb. 19 meeting, learned that the 5,000th guest stayed at the house on Jan. 31.
Sue* of southwest Missouri visits a grandson in Bowling Green. She comes only three or four times a year, due to the distance involved. She said she appreciates the availability of this safe and quiet guest house, plus the savings realized in staying there. With her permission, Sue’s story has been sent to several newspapers across the state in an effort to inform others of the services of Agape House of Vandalia.
In other business, members learned that 48 guests, including four children, had stayed at Agape House in January. A minor maintenance problem was resolved.
Steve Kreyling of the United Way of Audrain County board made an annual inspection of the facility in January.
Janet Heim displayed the newly created brochure for house guests.
Karen and Sterling Holbrook reported on their recent visit to St. Joseph School of Martinsburg during Catholic Schools Week.
The annual election of officers will take place at the March 19 meeting.
