Bank of Louisiana President Amber Shafer presented Phyllis Lovell with a gift certificate awarding her a 10 day trip of her choice in honor of 30 years of continuous loyal service with Bank of Louisiana.
Lovell was hired as Bank of Louisiana’s Bookkeeper in January of 1983, and was promoted to Head Bookkeeper in 1984. She has worked in many areas of the bank includingw balancing checking and savings accounts, safe deposit boxes, CDs, and as a part time teller. As Head Bookkeeper, Phyllis processes the ACH and NSF items, monitors and maintains accounts, balances the General Ledger and prepares all account statements for customers. In addition, technology has changed Phyllis’ current position tremendously over the years, but she has always adapted and trained to stay on top of the industry standards and go above and beyond what is required for her job.
Lovell is a 1973 Bowling Green High School graduate. She has also taken computer courses at Pike Lincoln Technical Center, along with annual industry training. She is the pianist at Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green and has been for 35 years.
Phyllis has two daughters: Kim Stone of Louisiana and Kari Gibbs of Hannibal. In her spare time she enjoys Civil War reenactments and history, spending time with family and friends and traveling. She plans to use her well deserved trip to go to Savannah, GA with her daughters and also visit Charleston, SC.
