Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Earl Stone, 90, of Eolia will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at the Eolia Baptist Church in Eolia. The Rev. Robert Knight will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Burial will be in the Eolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Stone passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Jan. 17, 1923 in Eolia the daughter of Edward Clarence Smith and Ellen Brown Smith.
She married John H. Stone Jan. 15, 1945 in Madison, Wis. and he preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1996.
Edna is survived by her son, John Edward Stone of New London; daughter-in-law, Wanda Stone of New London; one grandson, J. Christopher Stone and wife, Kryssie of Aurora, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Nikki Stone Lloyd and husband Terry, of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie McCarty; and her parents, Edward and Ellen Brown Smith.
She graduated from high school at Eolia. She was a member of the Eolia Baptist Church and the Eolia Eastern Star.
Honorary pallbearers are Bonnie Stone and Rosalie Steinhage. Active pallbearers are Paul Stone, Pete Colbert, Karl Steinhage, Jerry Woodward, Bill Franklin, and Jim McCarty.
