Rockhurst University junior Brandon McCann was recently named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s Division II All-Conference second team.
According to the school’s stats, McCann led the Hawks with a 12.2 scoring average. He averaged 13.1 points per game in 18 conference games, making him 23rd in the GLVC.
The guard also ranked seventh in the conference in three-point field goals, making 1.94 per game. McCann is third in free throws with a 89.1 percentage in GLVC games.
In addition, McCann finished the season with 89 rebounds, 52 assists and 21 steals. The Rockhurst junior collected five or more rebounds in seven games.
The Bowling Green native scored double figures in 18 games. He posted 20 plus points during four games, including a season-high 21 points at Lewis on Jan. 12 and again at Illinois Springfield on Jan. 26.
Over the past three seasons, McCann has scored 899 points in 75 games (12.0 per game). He has made 160 three-point field goals and connected on 83.3 percent of his free throws (105 of 126) in his career. McCann is ranked 5th in the GLVC for minutes played. He has averaged 33.33 minutes per game.
McCann is a combo guard and is one of the team’s top play-makers. He ranks one of the top 3-point shooters in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
