City utilizes groupcast messaging system

Bowling Green City Administrator Dan Lang made an exciting announcement for city businesses earlier this week. The City recently expanded its notification capabilities through the use of a groupcast messaging system.

This system will allow Bowling Green city officials to send messages to each business and residence within city limits.

The new groupcast system will be utilized to provide the people of Bowling Green with general information, emergency alerts, as well as community bulletins. These messages will be forwarded to residents and businesses throughout the city.

Officials used the utility billing and business license information to develop a database of contact telephone numbers.

The telephone numbers within the city’s database will be called this week as a test of the new messaging system. Anyone desiring to change the telephone number on file should contact Angi Ray Korte at City Hall, phone number 573-324-5451.
