Cattlemen’s Scholarship Dinner raises money
On March 23, the Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen’s Association held its first annual Scholarship Dinner/Dance at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Millwood, resulting in a huge success.
The hall was full, the meal was outstanding, and the attendees were very generous in helping raise money. Monetary funds were raised for seven-$1,000 scholarships to be given away this spring: one for a graduating senior at each high school in the two counties.
Officers and members were especially appreciative of Bob and Maggie Barron, Jeff Hogan, and Chuck Lavy for preparing the delicious steaks that night. Also, Mike Deering and Sarah Ray from the State of Missouri’s Cattlemen’s Association added great support and assistance in raising Scholarship funds. In addition, the association noticed everyone that came out, participated, donated, or were buyers during the evening’s festivities.
High school seniors will have until April 19 to enter their applications for the Cattlemen’s Association Scholars-hips. Winners will be picked and will be awarded at the next general membership meeting on Monday, May 6 at the Pike County Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m.
If you would like to join or become a member of the Lincoln/Pike Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, attend the next meeting for sign-up, or call Taylor Braungardt at (573) 324-6820.
