Bobcats roll over Duchesne Pioneers

The Duchesne Pioneers proved to be no match for the Bowling Green Bobcats as they faced off Tuesday, April 30. BGHS faced off for eight innings after being tied 3-3 through fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. The Bobcats were able to make two runs in the top of the eighth and held off the Pioneers through the bottom. The ‘Cats were victorious 5-3.

The Bobcats led in successful hits, with Jake Niemeyer and Andrew Martinson each connecting twice. BGHS’s players were also top dogs in RBIs, with Martinson and Brian Moore each earning two. Top seed for quality at bats went to Martinson, with four. Niemeyer and Austin Quarles were close behind, each earning three QABs.

Sophomore Cory Buchanan led the Bobcats from the mound for all eight innings, pitching 16 first-pitch strikes. Buchanan threw two strike outs and tallied a strike percentage of 56. Buchanan only allowed five hits, but threw five bases on balls.
