Each year, runners from Northeast Correctional Center and local law enforcement agencies join hands to lend their support and bring awareness to Missouri Special Olympics. This year was no different. Last Wednesday, more than 50 people, both spectators and runners, were in attendance for the NECC Torch Run. According to Travis Case, NECC Special Olympics chairman, the important part of the run is to make the public aware that law enforcement agencies and Northeast Correctional Center truly do care about these remarkable athletes and will continue to support them in any way that they possibly can.
