Area youth attend 4-H Teen Camp

On June 2 through 5 area youth participated in this year’s 4-H Teen Camp program. The theme for the camp was, “Ancient Greece”.  Teens ages 12 to 14 from Pike, Ralls, Marion, Shelby, Lewis, and Clark counties took part in the camp at Camp Inlow near Philadelphia.

Counselors for the camp were: Megan Hakenwerth, Emily Schuckenbrock, Ashlee Waddell, and Danny Somers, Pike County; Jennifer Durbin and Madalyn Bartels, Marion County; and Sara Christine and Jacob  Rich,  Shelby County. Workshops were Greek foods, Olympic games, survivor bracelets, chariot building, catapult building, Greek trivia, create your own Greek myth and learning about Greek attire.  Campers also enjoyed swimming.

Through these workshops, campers learned many life skills such as team-building, communication and problem solving.  Keynote topics were team building and win as much as you can.

Representing Pike County was Emily Meyer.  Ralls County members were Will Hopke and Cody James.
