James Richard (Dick) Allen

James Richard  (Dick) Allen, 81, passed away July 3, 2013 at St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake St. Louis.  Visitation was Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with memorial services, officiated by Pastor Joe Siefkas, following at 1 p.m.    Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens in Bowling Green.

Mr. Allen was born Oct. 1, 1931 in St. Louis, the son of James Alfred and Mary Isabel Brook Allen.  Mary Allen was from Montana. He married Dorothy Ann Luebrecht  Allen Feb. 21, 1955 at the St. Clement Church.  She survives.  Other survivors include two sons James Lee Allen and wife Karen (Rosburg)  of Bowling Green, and Robert Brook Allen of New Hartford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother who passed away in infancy.

Dick loved to farm and was an avid hunter.  He learned carpentry from his father.  He liked  to play poker and cards.  Mr. Allen was a member of the Middletown Lions Club.  In his later years he worked at the prison and metal works in Warrenton.

Dick served in United States army during the Korean War.

Memorials may be made to Home Health and Hospice Building Fund.
