Chamber discusses circus, other upcoming events

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce discussed an upcoming circus for the city among other topics during their regular membership meeting last Wednesday.

Chamber president Chad Perkins opened the meeting at noon with a hello and welcome, then turned it over to Bowling Green City Administrator Dan Lang for updates.

Lang mentioned that the fiscal year will start Oct. 1 and they are currently adding to the city’s budget for board review. He also said city officials are currently in the process of hiring a parks and recreation position for maintenance of park areas and to plan and oversee events. Those managing the application and hiring process have made a tentative offer to an applicant. Lang’s final topic for note was that of the community videos which are being uploaded to the city website. Six videos, lasting about two minutes each, should be on the website within the next two or so weeks.

Little discussion came from that of the budget and finance report, as well as development, membership, and the newsletter.
