YMCA 21st CCLC news

The YMCA 21st CCLC Program is tying up the end of the school year as the Louisiana Day camp will be coming to a close on Aug. 2.  We are also excitedly preparing for a new school year with the Back to School Fair coming up Aug. 10 at the Pike County Fairgrounds.

A lot of planning is going into the program as we are looking at enrichment programs for the schools, parental involvement and education, goals for the future, and at many other exciting possibilities and opportunities for improvement.

At the 21st CCLC office there has also been a change as Dale Miller has retired and Tammy Hutchinson is stepping into his place as Education Coordinator of the YMCA 21st Century Program.

Hutchinson lives in the Palmyra area with her husband and children.  She is a recent graduate of Ashford University with a Master’s in Education and Hannibal LaGrange University with a Bachelor of Art in English and is currently working toward a Doctorate in Education with North Central University.  She is looking forward to working with the program, working with the teachers visiting at the sites, as well as to meeting the families and children we will be serving.
