Redd, Dawson take first, second in derby

Lots and lots of rain did not deter the crowd or the drivers that participated in the annual Pike County Fair demoltion derby held on Friday, July 26.

After the rain delay, the fairboard and derby crew worked the arena, scraping and pushing mud and water in preparation for the final heat. Winners were:

• First place — Jake Redd, of Hallsville.

• Second place — Keith Dawson, of Bowling Green.

• Third place —Jeremy Baker, of Bowling Green.

• Fourth place — C.J. Barnes, of Shelbina.

• Fifth place — Tom Hill, of Pleasant Hill, Ill.

• Sixth place — Chad Charmin – town unavailable.

• Seven place — Kurt Love, Louisiana.

• Eighth place —Cedric Bronson, of Bowling Green.
