Bowling Green Schools offer many activities in the fall for students’ grades 7 through 12, and if students want to get involved there is generally something for everyone.  The fall sports that we offer include football, volleyball, softball, band, poms, cross country, and cheerleading.

The high school season will officially begin on Aug. 12 and the middle school season usually starts on or after the first day of school.  There are a few items that students must complete if they want to participate on the first day of practice.

The first item that students must have is an updated physical.  The physical also must be turned into the head coach or the athletic department.   A student/athlete will not be allowed to practice if they do not have a physical turned into the athletic department.

The second item that all student/athletes must have completed is the insurance and MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Activities) form.   This form can be picked up at the high school office.  The form will ask for proof that the student/athlete has sufficient insurance coverage. The form also requires a signature for the athlete and parent on concussion information.

If you have questions regarding the start of the fall sports season, please don’t hesitate to call 324-5341.

There are several ways this year where Bobcat fans can stay up to the minute on activities taking place at Bowling Green High School.

1) Bowling Green High School Athletic Web Site:   BGHS joined with ihigh.com in 2012.  This athletic website has many features to gain access to Bobcat athletics.  You can find updated sports schedules, access to the BGHS Facebook Page, athlete handbooks, coaching staff members, NAIA and NCAA Clearinghouse information, college recruiting information, pictures, videos, and much more.  If you haven’t done so yet, please check out the new BGHS athletic website at www.ihigh.com/bowlinggreen/

2) BGHS Facebook Page:  The facebook page was launched in August of 2011 and has been a wonderful tool for parents to keep up on information about BGHS.  Athletic events are also updated at the end of each game.  To be added to the BGHS Facebook page, please click the “like” button on the BGHS facebook page and you will be added.   To access the BGHS Facebook page, please go to www.facebook.com/BGHSBobcats.

3) BGHS also has a twitter page.  Everything that is added to our facebook page is automatically added to our Twitter page.  To access our twitter page, type in BGHSBOBCATS

4) Bowling Green R-I School District Launches Mobile App for Android and iPhone!   Type in Bowling Green R-1 in your smartphone app store for Android and iPhone and check out the new features this app can provide.  Some of the features of this app are listed below:
