School board approves bills in special meeting
The Bowling Green R-I Board of Education met for a brief special meeting before the work session Monday evening to review pending bill payments. Board members also met in an executive session to review a personnel issue.
Board President Joe Klott called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the district Central Office. All members were present.
Superintendent Darin Powell requested the presented list of pending bills be approved. He explained this request is due to the late date of the board’s regular meeting for the month of August and their hope to pay each bill on time.
Powell also explained that the recent publication “The Den,” which was released in the Bowling Green Times earlier this month, is a high bill, but is only about $400 above what the district would pay for back-to-school advertising. It is his hope that the publication will eventually pay for itself through publishing advertising dollars.
The board voted unanimously to approve the presented bills. Just before 6:45 p.m. the board adjourned into executive session.
