Parks Director looks to expand recreation

With the hiring of Bowling Green’s first Parks and Recreation Director, Derick Beanland, city officials are now looking toward expanding the recreational opportunities
available to its residents.

The Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of
preparing a single-page recreational survey to be distributed throughout the surrounding community.

The results of this Recreational Survey will be utilized in the development of recreational activities,
based upon the expressed interest of survey participants.

The survey is being completed and will be available beginning on Sept. 1.

Interested parties may obtain copies of the survey at the Bowling Green Public Library, Bowling Green Police Department, Bowling Green City Hall, and on the City’s website at www.bowlinggreen-mo.gov.

The Parks and Recreation Department will also have a space at the upcoming Heritage
Days Festival on Sept. 14, where surveys will be available, along with other information about the City parks system. The event will also provide an opportunity to
meet the City’s new Parks and Recreation Director.
