Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships, finalizes funding at regular meeting

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce met May 8 for their regular membership meeting.   • City receives updated Amish community map

    The City of Bowling Green recently received an updated and revised Amish Community map. The map was prepared for the city by an offender at the Northeast Correctional Center under their restorative justice program.   • Gabby Farabee to represent BG FBLA at nationals

    During the FBLA state leadership conference in April, Bowling Green High School’s Gaby Farabee was awarded a great opportunity.   • Pike County kids attend 4-H conference

    Of the 360 total attendants at the recent 4-H Teen Conference, Pike County stood in proud representation. Connor Shannon, Payton Teasley, Olivia Niemeyer, Emily Meyer, Katherine Dixon, Kara Meyer and Katy Horner, all of Pike County were among the people attending the conference, which was recorded as the largest in Missouri history.     Lucas Watson, of Louisiana, is a senior biology/chemistry major at William Woods University.  His many campus activities include membership in President’s Twenty and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.   • EAA offers free plane rides

    The Troy Airpark chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (www.eaa.org) is offering Lincoln and Pike county youngsters, ages 8 to 17, a free airplane orientation ride as part of EAA’s Young Eagle program (www.youngeagles.org).
