City reflects on paving project

  • Lady Cats bring home fourth place – First state trophy in girls XC history

    Bowling Green’s Lady Cats cross country team brought home the first state trophy in the team’s history following Saturday’s meet in Jefferson City.   • Elkhorn bridge reopened

    At approximately 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, MoDOT and its contractor reopened the Elkhorn Creek Bridge located north of Buell in Montgomery County. The bridge has been closed since Sept. 15 due to an inspection revealing one pier missing 50 percent of steel, making it unsafe to cross.   • Champ Clark Bridge closed this week

    The Champ Clark Bridge in Louisiana is scheduled to be closed this week. Expansion joint repairs began Monday, Oct. 20 at 6 a.m. on the Champ Clark Bridge on US 54 over the Mississippi River in Pike County. The bridge will be closed through this Friday, Oct. 24. The repairs include the removal and replacement of bridge expansion joints, and miscellaneous concrete work in and around the new expansion joints,

  • Smoother streets

    The highly-anticipated road resurfacing project has finally begun on several dilapidated city roads. Resurfacing began last week on Court and Champ Clark streets. Financing for the work was done through CSB and Commerce banks; the contractor assigned for the project is MidRivers Asphalt. For the Fall work, the contractor plans to resurface the remainders of Court and Champ Clark streets, as well as Centennial.

  • Champ Clark bridge work postponed

    Due to the weather forecast, MoDOT and its contractor will postpone joint expansion repairs on the U.S. 54 bridge over the Mississippi River, Champ Clark, at Louisiana until next Monday, Oct. 20. The bridge will close Monday at 6 a.m. and is expected to reopen Friday, Oct. 24.
