Pike County 4-H horse knowledge members compete at State

The state horse judging competition was held on March 14 at the Trowbridge Livestock Arena on the MU campus in Columbia. Pike County 4-H co-leaders Jody Horner and Jean Ledford, along with Lisa Barnes and Hal Roach, accompanied the five competitors.   • Boy Scouts create fish habitat at lake

  • Home Care, Hospice offers nursing scholarship

    The Home Care & Hospice Foundation of Pike County offers a yearly $1,500 Nursing  Scholarship to Pike County high school seniors or adults who plan to enter the field of Nursing. “We want to help those who help others,” says Melaney Mathis, chairperson of the  Foundation.  “Our Foundation realizes the need for good nurses and wants to help in their training,” she adds.   • St. Clement students compete in math contest

    Two students from St. Clement School competed in the regional math contest held recently at Louisiana. Avery Daffron placed fourth in Number Sense and Andrea Korte earned an Honorable Mention for her scores on the tests that were taken that morning. Andrea and Avery are in the fourth grade at St. Clement School. The Math Contests are sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
