YMCA salutes Barbie “Grand Slam Gamm”

Barbie Gamm is a Pike County player with a purpose. A clutch leader for the Twin Pike Family YMCA, Barbie has been instructing aerobics classes for the Y the last 14 years. A lifetime resident of Pike County she has also served on the YMCA Board of Directors and is currently serving on the Pike County Fair Board as well as the Pike County and Bowling Green Khoury League Boards.

  • Niemeyer celebrates five years cancer-free

    Ansel Niemeyer, center, a five-year cancer survivor celebrates life on June 6​ at the Celebrate Life Tree planting ceremony with Christopher McCord Stephenson, DO, Medical Director of the Survivorship & Quality of Life Programs & Internist (left), and Jamie Stephenson, Board of Directors (right), at Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center.  A tree will be planted in Ansel Niemeyer’s honor. This year, over​ 300 trees will be planted in honor of all five-year cancer survivors.

    Louisiana-sponsored teams dominated the competition at the Pike County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 18th Annual “Tee Off Fore Tots” Golf Tournament on Friday, June 6, at Eagle’s Bluff Golf Course in Clarksville.
