  • Homecoming week promises fun for all

    Homecoming is this Friday, and the Bowling Green High School student council has planned several events for the week. The group has decided to bring back spirit points.   • Colbert named MU Homecoming candidate

    Congratulations to Frankford’s own Ethan Colbert, who was recently named a candidate for the MU Homecoming King title. Colbert, a Mizzou senior, made it to the top-10 list of candidates this week and is representing his fraternity, Delta Chi. The King and Queen will be announced at the MU Homecoming game, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 25. Ethan is the son of Roger and Julie Colbert.

    The annual Honeyshuck banquet, held Thursday, Sept. 25, was a hit as usual. With entertaining guests, fellowship, and a delicious meal, this year’s event was not something to miss.   • Relay raises nearly $40k

    Braxton Pitzer and Kaylee Long, with a little help from mom Sheila, cut the ribbon to kick off Saturday’s Relay for Life event.

    Saturday’s Relay for Life event, held at the Pike County fairgrounds, raised a total of $38,868.61, much to the delight of event chairpersons and participants. “It was an awesome night,” said chairman Ethel Drew.   • Second Baptist to host revival

    Rev. Jerry Gamm from the Curryville Baptist Church will be at Second Baptist Church from Sunday to Wednesday, Oct. 5 through 8 leading revival services. Music will be under the direction of Joyce Burris, Second Baptist Music Minister.
