YMCA summer programs

BONCL BONCL will not be having summer programs.  All BONCL students are invited to attend summer programs at Louisiana or Clopton. Bowling Green and Frankford Summer School Extended Days will be provided on days when Summer School is in session.  Hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Clopton Summer Session will begin May 26 and run through June 19.  Hours are 6:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Louisiana Summer School Extended Days

    Miss Jacy Lowrance, Little Miss Vandalia 2014, age 5, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Missouri Pageant to be held June 25 through 27 at the beautiful Holiday Inn Executive in Columbia.   • Republicians of Pike County make final plans for Lincoln Day celebration

    Republicans of Pike County Club met on May 7 at the Faith Baptist Church in Louisiana. Following a prayer led by Harvey Hughes and the pledge of allegiance led by Gale Frolos, the group enjoyed a carry-in supper. The business meeting was called to order by club president, Gale Frolos.   • BG Rotary to host Lakefest

    The Bowling Green Rotary Club will be hosting its third annual Lakefest at the Bowling Green Reservoir/Jack Floyd Memorial Lake, East of Bowling Green, on Friday, June 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Lakefest includes a BBQ, 5K run/walk, hayrides, bonfire and other family activities.     The Pike County Cancer Memorial Park board hosted their annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday morning at Bowling Green’s Second Baptist Church. Chairman Karen Daffron welcomed visitors, survivors and their families as the event began at 9 a.m. Featured guests and speakers included the park’s board of directors, students and faculty from St. Clement School, Judy Oberman, Peggy Summers, and Ethel Drew.
