The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony in the City Park Monday, Dec. 1. Santa will be arriving at the Bowling Green City Park on  Monday at 4:30 p.m. Area residents are invited to come and join the Chamber for cookies and hot chocolate, and to enjoy the music and lights. Athletic banquet honors athletes, accomplishments

Bowling Green High School honored its fall sport athletes last week during the annual Fall Athletic Banquet and awards ceremony. Athletic Director and head cross country coach Matt Chance welcomed those in attendance as the event began at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.   • BGMS to host third annual swap shop

    Becky Turner   Two years ago the Bowling Green Middle School took on a new challenge. Students donated clean, gently used clothing that they no longer needed or wanted.   A “shop” was then set up in the high school auditorium and students were able to come and choose items they would like for themselves.  Everything was free and all students who wanted to were allowed to shop.     I have to give credit where credit is due: Thugs are opportunistic people; that’s for sure. In light of this week’s…incidents…in Ferguson, I find myself reflecting on those sly individuals who saw an excuse to do some early Christmas shopping, as well as the poor people of St. Louis, our government leaders, and America as a whole.
