With more than 60 vendors this year, the customers who braved the chilly weather were guaranteed to find something they liked at this year’s MOPs craft fair.

On the Saturday after St. Patrick’s day, March 22, the Pike County Mothers-of-Preschoolers (MOPs) group hosted their annual Craft Fair.  The day started with 58 tables set up inside and seven vendors outside.     On Monday, March 3, the Pike County MOPS group had their normal meeting at Morning Star Fellowship Church. Following the light meal of finger foods, the moms started their meeting and the planning for the upcoming craft fair on March 22. Placement for all 63 vendors and last minute adjustment were made, as well as final shopping list. Plans were made for the day and the next meeting in April.

  • Plans underway for 2014 farmers’ markets

    As 2014 begins, plans are already underway for the Wind Ridge Farmers’ Market in Eolia and the River Hills Market in Silex. The market year will begin at the Silex Park at 8 a.m. with a market session, followed by a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be for both markets.
