BG takes Wright City 10-5

    An excellent effort by senior pitcher Corey Brown carried the Bobcats to a 1-0 win in eight innings over Louisiana on Thursday. Bowling Green got the win thanks in large part to Brown’s dominant, 11-strikeout performance. The pitcher gave up just three hits and threw 20 first-pitch strikes over the eight shutout innings.     The Bowling Green High School Bobcats claimed a 7-0 victory at Winfield Friday after a four-run rally in the seventh inning. Alex Roy racked up three RBIs on two hits for Bowling Green. The BGHS junior singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning. Cory Buchanan, who pitched all seven innings, kept Winfield off the scoreboard.     Despite some wet spring weather, the Bobcats were able to rally on the diamond and at bat last Tuesday, April 1 at Silex. The ‘Cats ultimately beat the Owls with a 8-4 victory.     Bowling Green R-I School District administrators made an announcement last week that has excited many local residents, as well as Bobcat basketball fans. A Bowling Green native, Cary Bibb, was hired earlier this month to the position of head Bobcats basketball coach. Bibb will replace Greg Williams, who recently announced his resignation.
