BG Rotary to host Lakefest

The Bowling Green Rotary Club will be hosting its third annual Lakefest at the Bowling Green Reservoir/Jack Floyd Memorial Lake, East of Bowling Green, on Friday, June 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Lakefest includes a BBQ, 5K run/walk, hayrides, bonfire and other family activities. The Rotary Club will serve BBQ throughout the evening, including a pork burger or hotdog dinner. The 5K run/walk features a scenic course on trails

  • Bobcats take second place at Districts

    Bowling Green High School’s Bobcat baseball team earned the second place title in last week’s District tournament. The ‘Cats got a bye for the first round and played Mark Twain for a 12-2 win. With a few rain delays postponing the championship round until Friday afternoon, the Bobcats ultimately sacrificed the win to Palmyra 5-0.

  • Larson receives scholar-athlete awards

    St. Louis College of Pharmacy (STLCOP) student-athlete Rebecca Larson, of Bowling Green, received of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award. To be eligible for nomination, an outstanding varsity athlete must maintain a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average as a junior or above.   • Bobcats obliterate Whitfield

    The Bowling Green Bobcats jumped out to an early lead over Whitfield and captured an impressive 13-2 run-away victory last Tuesday. With seven runs in the first three innings, Bowling Green left no doubt about the eventual outcome of the contest.
