  • Bobcat baseball destroys Clopton

    Bowling Green’s Bobcats took down Clopton 17-2 on Thursday at Clarksville after slamming their opponent with an impressive nine runs in the fifth inning. The Bobcats managed to grab their lead after a strong third inning, in which they earned five runs. A passed ball scored David Goddard to give the Bobcats their lead for the duration.     The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead on Van-Far and captured a whopping 16-5 victory over the visiting Indians on Tuesday, April 8.     The Bobcats played well for their first tournament of the year, as they travelled to Auxvasse and Montgomery City last week for the annual Montgomery County tournament.     Despite some wet spring weather, the Bobcats were able to rally on the diamond and at bat last Tuesday, April 1 at Silex. The ‘Cats ultimately beat the Owls with a 8-4 victory.     Late last month, Shawn Everhart, of Bowling Green, competed in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s Chicago Spring International Open at Chicago State University. Shawn is a student at Gracie Barra Hannibal and competed for Gracie Barra, one of the largest, and most traditional, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organizations in the world.   • BG R-I announces new basketball coach – Cary Bibb returns to BG

    Bowling Green R-I School District administrators made an announcement last week that has excited many local residents, as well as Bobcat basketball fans. A Bowling Green native, Cary Bibb, was hired earlier this month to the position of head Bobcats basketball coach. Bibb will replace Greg Williams, who recently announced his resignation.
