4-H compete in area shooting competitions

Pike County 4-H Shooting Sports members have competed in several area shooting sports invitationals this summer. The Monroe County Invitational was held on June 7. Competing in the rain were: Archery – Junior Enoch Brown placed fifth. Shotgun Singles and Doubles – Seniors Garrett Swarnes placed fifth in singles and Jordan Shaw. Doubles – Seniors Jordan Shaw placed fifth and Garrett Swarnes. Randolph County Invitational was held on June 28.

    A six-run burst in the fifth inning was plenty good enough to seal a victory for the Lady Cats over their host, the Silex Lady Owls, last Tuesday evening.   • XC takes top-10 titles at Fulton

    This Saturday, Sept. 20, the Bobcat and Lady Cat cross country teams competed alongside some of the greatest runners in the area at the Fulton Invitational. Both varsity teams, as well as the JV boys, placed in the top ten.The varsity girls placed seventh while the varsity boys placed tenth.   • Lady Cats place fourth at QND

    Bowling Green’s Lady Cats cross country team has proved, once again, that they are some of the best runners in the area.   • Lady Cats suffer loss at South Callaway

    The Bowling Green Lady Cats failed to provide enough offense to beat South Callaway Friday, despite all-star pitcher Madison Ingram’s impressive six-inning performance. Bowling Green took the loss, 2-1. Destiny Lindsay was solid at the plate for Bowling Green. Lindsay went 2-3 and tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.     BGHS’s Lady Cats jumped to an early lead over Van-Far and captured a 13-0 victory on Thursday in Vandalia.
