Convention and Visitors Bureau fishing derby

The Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau will host their fifth annual fishing derby on Sunday, May 3. The event will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Welcome Site (behind Dairy Queen and across from the Wal-Mart parking lot).   • Bobcats take “W” over Winfield

    Jake Niemeyer earned three RBIs last Monday, sparking his Bobcats to a 12-7 victory in seven innings over Winfield at BGHS. The senior doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fourth, and sixth innings. Despite having allowed seven runs over 4 2/3 innings, BG’s Ryan Reynolds still recorded the victory.   • Bobcats top Palmyra – Roy’s four RBIs help lead

    Bowling Green’s Bobcats and Palmyra volleyed the lead eight times on Monday, April 6 but the ‘Cats ultimately came out on top for a 9-7 win at Flowers City Park. The bottom of the first saw Palmyra take an early lead, 1-0. The Bobcats finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. They scored on a two-run double by Alex Roy, plating Ashton Oberman and Cory Buchanan.

    A makeup game Friday following Thursday’s regularly scheduled game made for am 11-1 win for Bowling Green over Mark Twain on Thursday 11-1 at BGHS. BG didn’t drop their lead after scoring one run in the first inning. The Bobcats tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the second.     The Bowling Green Bobcats jumped to an early lead over the visiting Community R-6 and ultimately captured a 15-4 victory on Tuesday, March 31 at BGHS.
