    Bowling Green High School honored its fall sport athletes last week during the annual Fall Athletic Banquet and awards ceremony. Athletic Director and head cross country coach Matt Chance welcomed those in attendance as the event began at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.   • Lady Cats look for successful season despite challenging schedule

    The 2014-15 Bobcats basketball team(s) include the following players: Varsity: Tyess Chatman, Ashton Oberman, Alex Roy, Beau Brandt, Quinton Jennings, Adam Holt, Brenden Bixby, Cory Buchanan, Dalton Pafford, Dakken Morris, Andrew Martinson, Ryan Talkington, Josh Early; JV: Corey Bell, Noah Pafford, Ethan Luebrecht, Beau Brandt, Roy Rosenburg, Ryan Reynolds, Dylan Henderson, Brenden Bixby, Reid Glenn, Trent Robb, Josh Sparks, Trevor Potter, Ryan Talkington, and Bailey Kiel.

    Under a new coaching staff, returning starters and incoming freshmen will be relied on heavily as the Bobcats basketball team fights towards victory this winter.   • Opening-weekend deer harvest tops 91,000 – Up by 30,000 from 2013

    The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reports that hunters checked 91,460 deer during the opening weekend of the 2014 November Portion of Firearms Deer Season this past weekend. Top harvest counties for the opening weekend were Franklin with 1,839 deer checked, Howell with 1,793, and Callaway with 1,791. Last year’s firearms opening weekend deer harvest was 61,446.
