Alfred E. Kuntz

Alfred E. Kuntz, 84, of Eolia, went to be with the Lord  Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with John Veach officiating.  Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Bowling Green.  Visitation was Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kuntz was born Dec. 11, 1928 near Elsberry, the son of John Arthur and Beatrice Cole Kuntz.  On Oct. 18, 1950, in Auxvasse, he married Dorothy Ann Bufford.  She survives.

Other survivors include two sons Eddie Kuntz and wife Marian of Eolia and J. B. Kuntz of Eolia; one daughter Karen Kuntz of Eolia; three grandchildren Aaron Kuntz and wife Christy, Jamie and Rob Kuntz; four great grandchildren Scott, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Rileigh Kuntz; one brother Gaylord Kuntz of West Plains and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Ruth Rose and two brothers Ray and Sanford Kuntz.

Mr. Kuntz was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church near Bowling Green.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attended rural schools in Pike and Lincoln counties.  He loved to farm and started early with his father and continued as a grain and livestock farmer all of his life.

Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Motley, Jim Kuntz, Jerry Kuntz, Darryl Kuntz, Ronnie Rose and Gene Rose.

Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery.
