Amelia Louise Yelinek 77, of Indianapolis, Ind. passed away Nov. 25, 2012. Amelia was born April 11, 1935 to the late Edward and Barbara (Grote) Tophinke in Ashley. She graduated from the Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Oldenburg, Ind. She lived and worked in St. Louis, where she met her late husband of 48 years, Robert L. Yelinek. Amelia and Robert first moved to Omaha, Neb., and started their family. The family then relocated to Indianapolis in 1965 and became lifelong members of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she was active in the parish and community. After raising her children, she worked at Blocks and Lazarus Department stores for a number of years. She is survived by her children, Steve (Kim), Tom (Terri), Barb Louis (Pete) of Apex N.C., and Jerry Yelinek of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren, Drew, Kira, and Alicia; sister, Colette Niccoli (Frank) of St. Charles; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday Nov. 28, from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Lawrence in Indianapolis, Ind.. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Memorials may be sent to St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
