Fans of live music will want to mark their calendars for Sunday, March 19, when Taylor Blackwell is slated to perform a benefit concert at the Bowling Green High School Auditorium.
The concert is scheduled from 3 to 4 p.m. and promises to be interactive as Blackwell said she hopes to visit with audience members throughout her performance about two organizations that are near and dear to her heart.
Blackwell, who is the current Ms. River City Outstanding Teen, is raising money for the Ms. Missouri’s philanthropy of choice, The Children’s Miracle Network, and her own personal platform, Readers Are Leaders.
According to Blackwell, the concert is free and open to the public, though donations will be accepted.
Both organizations will receive the proceeds from the concert.
According to Blackwell, the Children’s Miracle Network is in constant need of financial support.
“At least 62 patients enter a Children’s Miracle Network hospital every minute,” Blackwell said. “That is why CMN has such a financial need, and that is why it is my job and other contestant’s job to raise money because Children’s Miracle Network never expects the family to pay for treatment.”
