A mass of Christian burial for Betty L. Corum, 77, of Louisiana, was held Nov. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Louisiana. Father Lou Dorn officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.
Mrs. Corum died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Boone County Hospital, Columbia.
She was born April 14, 1935 in Louisiana, the daughter of Guy and Beulah Buffington Mann. She married Henry F. Corum Nov. 9, 1952 at First Baptist Church, Louisiana, and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, William Corum and wife, Deborah of Bradley, Ill., and Michael Corum of Kankakee, Ill.; one daughter, Janet Pepin of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; five grandchildren: Kevin Corum, Stacy Corum Elroy, Steven Corum, Jason Fedrow and Joseph Maguire; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Corum had been employed as a secretary for Shelter Insurance Company for many years working in agencies in Bradley, Ill. and Kankakee, Ill., and for the Jay Thomas Insurance Agency in Louisiana.
She graduated from Louisiana High School. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana, and had been the church organist for many years.
Pallbearers were Alex Cafer, John Cafer, Joseph Maguire, Kevin Corum, Steven Corum and Steve Condon.
