The Bowling Green Ministerial Association hosted its annual Baccalaureate for Bowling Green High School graduating seniors Saturday afternoon.
The event was held in the BGHS auditorium and began at 4 p.m. on May 10. The occasion began with a processional of the present members of the 2014 senior class and a greeting from emcee and host Mike Gillen.
Dawn Marie Turner offered the opening prayer, which was followed by a musical presentation: “Hymn to Joy,” sung by Shiann Truelove, Ella Klott, and Kayla Perkins.
Ron Kunzweiler offered a scripture reading and some advice to the seniors in attendance.
Don Amelung presented some words of wisdom for the graduating students and was followed up by soloist Tyler Talkington, who sang “We Believe.”
Senior student Jessica Schindler presented the senior class story, which was read prior to the 2014 senior class in pictures.
The program ended with a blessing for the senior class by Keith Barnhart and a reception of cake and punch.
Ministers in participation included Robert Warren, of the Church of the Nazarene, Keith Barnhart, of Edgewood Baptist, Ron Kunzweiler, of Friendship Baptist, Dawn Marie Turner, of First Christian, Joe Siefkas, of First Presbyterian, Mike Gillen, of First United Methodist, Jeffrey Dock, of Good Shepherd Lutheran, and Don Amelung, of Second Baptist.
