The Bobcats were all-stars from the plate last Wednesday at Wright City. Racking up 14 hits as a team, Bowling Green was able to best their host with a 10-5 score in seven innings.
A great deal of the Bobcats’ success can be credited to junior Alex Roy, who rocked Wright City with two home runs. Roy went 3-3 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. He hit home runs in both the first and fourth innings.
Darren Feldewerth got the win for Bowling Green at the mound. He allowed four runs over four innings, struck out four, walked two, and surrendered only seven hits.
The Bobcats maintained their lead after the first, when they scored two runs on a solo home run by Roy and a groundout by Cory Buchanan.
Bowling Green scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed up with two more in the fourth. In the third, the boys scored on an error, plating Roy.
Wright City answered Bowling Green’s call with three runs in the third, closing the Bobcats’ lead to 4-3.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Wright City faced just a 6-4 deficit. The Bobcats landed three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh, leaving Wright City with a gap they couldn’t make up.
