The Bowling Green High School Band had a productive day of music making on Saturday March 9.
The band took nine Soloists to Ft. Zumwalt East High School to play at the District Solo/Ensemble Festival.
All students performed and represented the school very well.
According to the school’s Facebook page, Wyatt Houseworth and Samantha Smith both received “Outstanding” ratings on their solos as freshmen, which is something to be proud of.
Katie Wilkinson also received an “Outstanding” rating on her first attempt at a solo as well.
Joe McCormick, William Graver, Cheyann Oshia, and Kimmy Niemeyer received “Satisfactory” ratings on their solo and most of them were extremely close to an “Outstanding” rating.
Joseph Kroeck performed both an Alto Saxophone Solo and a Piano Solo and received an “Exemplary” on both and therefore will be going to state to perform for a rating again.
The district says it is “very proud of the work the students have put in this school year and this is just another example of how hard work can pay off in the end.”
