The Bowling Green High School Varsity Golf Team recently competed at Norwoods Country Club in Hannibal and at the Pike County Country Club near Louisiana. At the Hannibal meet, the Bobcats faced golfers from Hannibal, Louisiana and South Shelby.
While the Hannibal golfers were able to defend their home golf course, the Bowling Green golfers continued to improve their golf game.
Leading the Bobcats was Jonas Shepard, who finished the meet with a score of 55. Behind Shepard was Noah Gamm, 58: McCoy Thompson, 64; Joseph Krueck, 68; and Ethan Everhart, 77.
In the team standings, the Hannibal Pirates were the best team that day. Hannibal was followed in the standings by Louisiana, Bowling Green and South Shelby.
On Tuesday, April 11, the Bowling Green High School Varsity golf team once again faced off against the Louisiana golf team. This time the two schools met at the Pike County Country Club near Louisiana. Joining the two inner-county rivals for the meet were the Elsberry Indians.
Despite a strong performance by McCoy Thompson, the Bobcats still finished in third position overall. Results for the Bobcats were: Thompson, 48; Jonas Shepard, 53; Noah Gamm, 56; Joseph Krueck, 62; and Reed Niemeyer, 68.
