BGHS presents Winter Concert

Bowling Green High School choir and band presented their 2012 Winter Concert last Thursday night. A large crowd gathered in the auditorium for an evening’s worth of entertainment.

The concert began with the BGHS Jazz Combo performing “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town”, arranged by Haven Gillespie.

BGHS’ Concert Band followed with their renditions of five popular Christmas tunes: “Two Bach Christmas Classics”, “The Christmas Song”, “O Christmas Tree”, “Fantasias on a Christmas Carol”, and “Christmas Festival Overture”.

The students for each band were directed by Jim Hawkins.

Pride, choreographed by Emily Schuckenbrock, Nick Stumbaugh, Jordan Watts, and Emily Nosbush, performed three pieces: “Mistletoe”, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”, and “It’s Christmas Again!”.

Bowling Green’s Freshmen/Mixed Chorus performed “A Very Merry Christmas”, “Silent Night” with solo by Courtney Burbridge, and “Can Santa Make It Through Tonight?”.

The Concert Choir presented “Come On, It’s Christmas!”, “Now The Winter”, “Believe”, and “Child of God”.

The program then introduced the EMO Choir recognitions. Dylan Collins, Skyler Durham, Darby Edmond, Chris Esparza, Gabriela Farabee, Tim Hanley, Morgan Hayes, Drew Jacyna, Zach Kiel, Samantha Korte, Emily Nosbush, Destinie Orrick, Kayla Perkins, Cameron Shinn, Nick Stumbaugh, Tyler Talkington, Kristen Thibodeaux, Shiann Truelove, Jordan Watts, Tyler Watts, and Ashlee Young were all listed as EMO Choir members.

The concert concluded with the performance of “O Holy Night.”
