Head Coach: Team Wants To Win Program’s First-Ever District Title
By Ethan Colbert
The Lady ‘Cats volleyball team wants to do what no volleyball team in BGHS history has done before — win a district championship.
“Last week, we talked about how we can’t go back to change how our season started, the games that we lost, but the only thing that we could control was how our season ended,” Bowling Green High School Head Coach Katie Splain said in a telephone interview with the Bowling Green Times on Tuesday morning, which was the morning after the Lady ‘Cats volleyball program recorded its first post-season win in seven years by defeating Principia 2-1.
The last time the Lady ‘Cats won a playoff game was in 2011 when they knocked off St. Charles High School in the first-round of the district tournament. The Lady ‘Cats would later lose in the second round to St. Charles West High School.
