The Bobcats were able to defeat the visiting Montgomery County baseball team last Thursday with an impressive five-run final inning. With a final score of 5-2 Bobacts, Bowling Green maintained their winning streak.
With the score tied at two in the sixth inning, junior Cory Buchanan came to the plate and singled, scoring Andrew Martinson.
Senior pitcher Darren Feldewerth struck out eight, paving the way for a Bowling Green win. Feldewerth allowed no earned runs, only four hits, and two walks over the six inning bout.
Bobcats closer Jorden Billings put away the final three outs to record the save.
The top of the first saw Montgomery County take an early lead, 1-0. With a second unanswered run in the third, the Wildcats maintained this lead until the sicth.
Bowling Green went up for good in the sixth, scoring five total runs, which came home on an RBI single by Feldewerth.
Alex Roy led the ‘Cats in hits, connecting with two.
Buchanan, Corey Brown, and Feldewerth earned one RBI each. Brown and senior Austin Quarles led with QABs, earning three a piece.
