Friday night’s home field Bowling Green football game proved to be another heart-breaker for the Bobcats, who fell to the historically tough Montgomery County Wildcats, 62-21.
The Bobcats performed strong early, but mistakes began to take over midway through the second stanza, resulting in the loss.
On the opening return, Malik McPike got across the 45 yard line to set up a scoring opportunity for the Bobcats. Jake Niemeyer took the ball to mid-field. When McPike got a touchdown less than a minute into the game, it looked like the Bobcats were going to own the field.
Corey Brown’s point-after kick was good, ratcheting the Bobcats up 7-0.
But the Wildcats were quick to answer and in a short time found paydirt themselves. The Bobcats blocked their point- after kick.
