Bowling Green’s Varsity Bobcats fell to Winfield in their away game last Tuesday with a final score of 61-56.
“It is a challenge for a young team to play on consecutive nights. Our kids put forth tremendous energy and displayed a true competitive spirit,” said head coach Greg Williams. “They proudly represent the Bowling Green community and continually put up a good fight each and every night.”
The Bobcats got an impressive 21 rebounds, 11 assists, and got seven steals. The team’s downfall may very well have been their turnovers, which totalled 17.
Adam Holt was the lead scorer of the game, and made 20 points. Holt got five rebounds, one steal, and made two assists.
Cory Buchanan scored 18 game points. He also got one rebound and made three assists.
Corey Brown scored 10 points for the Bobcats. Brown made two assists, got one rebound, and one steal.
David Goddard made six points and got an impressive 10 rebounds. Goddard also made two steals for Bowling Green.
Andrew Martinson scored two points during his game time. He also made four assists, two steals, and one block.
Josh Early got four rebounds during his eight minutes of play. Early also made one steal and one block.
The Bobcats played the next game Friday at Silex. Last night, Bowling Green took on Montgomery County at home.
