The Bobcats went into halftime Monday night with a 19 point lead over Montgomery County for the first round at the Palmyra tournament. This spread carried them through the second half, and the ‘Cats were able to pull off a 61-38 win, propelling them to the next bracket.
Bowling Green sank nearly 50 percent of their field goal attempts and 63 percent of their free throws, both an improvement from their last game.
The Bobcats were able to grab 36 total rebounds and only made 10 fouls.
Junior Cory Buchanan was top-dog in scoring, making 18 points. Senior Corey Brown was right on his heels, adding 16 points of his own.
This victory allows the Bobcats to advance in the tournament. They’ll face off against the host team and number-one seed, Palmyra, tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 22).
