The City of Bowling Green recently received the prestigious President’s Club award from the Missouri Rural Service Workers’ Compensation Insurance Trust.
The Trust is celebrating its 20th year and represents over 700 non-profit and governmental members on workers compensation issues. Only 52 members received the President’s Club award in 2013. The award is presented to members who have at least six years of a 35 percent or less ratio of workers compensation claims to paid premiums.
The City of Bowling Green has been a member of the President’s Club for 14 years. Only one other entity has a longer tenure (15 years) for outstanding employee safety. By reducing worker’s compensation claims, members pay a lower premium. This reduced premium allows the money to be spent by the City for other purposes.
City Administrator Dan Lang accepted the President’s Club award on behalf of the employees of the City of Bowling Green.
