Chamber meets prior to Heritage Day

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce held their regular meeting last Wednesday. During the meeting, status updates were given on Friday’s circus as well as Heritage Fest.

President Chad Perkins called the meeting to order at 12:06 p.m. at the Pike County Health Department.

City Administrator Dan Lang mentioned the parks and recreation survey, which has been made available around the city. He also noted the city’s preparation for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, and the possibility of a new crossing guard.

There were no discussions of reports from committees or boards.

Terry Cook offered an update on the circus, noting everything was coming along well. He requested some parking volunteers.

Tara Massman spoke on behalf of the Heritage Fest committee, saying she thought Saturday would be a success.

In new business, Perkins mentioned the upcoming four-way fundraiser, which will be help Friday, Sept. 27 at the crossroads. The board also briefly discussed an upcoming concert, sponsored by Ron Turnbull, which will feature Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent.

With no other discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 12:33 p.m.
